Luonnos is a Grafia’s new event and exhibition space in Uudenmaankatu 13, Helsinki. Luonnos presents content relating to visual communication design and creative design.
The members of Grafia, the Association of Visual Communication Designers in Finland, have been requesting a space for their own exhibitions and events. From this idea came Luonnos – Creative Space by Grafia. In November, Luonnos was piloted in Helsinki’s Hakaniemi, and has now found a permanent home at Uudenmaankatu 13, Helsinki.
The name Luonnos (Finnish for sketch or draft) reflects the open-minded, diverse, and creative nature of the space’s content. Incompleteness is allowed and even recommended. Rather than presenting works that are polished to perfection, the aim is to stir conversation around current topics and bring people together. The goal is to create an easily approachable gallery space and open stage, where work relating to visual communication design and creative design can be brought forth candidly.
